Experience the world at the Global Citizen Film Festival

The Busan Global City Foundation will host the Global Citizen Film Festival to celebrate Together Day. Film screenings, talks and activities will be held at the Busan Cinema Center.


On May 18, visitors can enjoy the Egyptian film “Barra El-Manhag,” the South African film “Countdown to Freedom,” and the Kenyan film “Supa Modo.”


“Barra El-Manhag” is a lighthearted drama by award-winning filmmaker Amr Salama. The movie tells the tale of a young orphan boy who finds friendship in an unexpected place.


“Countdown to Freedom” is a documentary chronicling Nelson Mandela’s triumph in South Africa’s first free elections.


“Supa Modo” shows how a village comes together to help a terminally sick young girl realize her dream.


German film “Lucy Wanted” and Dutch film “Totem” will screen on May 25. “Lucy Wanted” is a heartwarming story about a 10-year-old girl who decides to rob a bank to save her parents’ ice cream shop. “Totem is a poignant tale about a young girl who discovers her roots when her family is threatened with deportation.


All movies are free; anyone can easily secure a seat by completing the Google Form below. The ticket deadline is two days before the screening day; until May 16 for May 18 and May 23 for May 25.
